Artist Call: Faces

Description

Creating a “likeness” of another person or creature is considered one of the more difficult accomplishments an artist can achieve, but that doesn’t stop creators from tackling the subject over and over again. Artists have long been captivated by the beauty, emotion, and challenge of the rendering of a portrait, and rarely is there an opportunity to show these works in a themed exhibition. This is why the Langley Arts Council is excited to invite our brave art-makers to show theirs off in our upcoming art exhibit titled “Faces.”

We invite artists to submit 2-D work on the theme of the portrait; human, animal, or other.

Submission deadline: Monday Feb. 11th

Details: all submissions must be wired and ready to hang. Only work that can be hung on a wall can currently be accommodated. Limit 3 submissions per application (please note that we may accept less than 3 images, depending on space). Open to members of the Langley Arts Council (it is easy to become one! Visit www.langleyarts.ca/membership to learn more). Show runs Feb 20th – April 1st at the Timms Community Centre Walkway Gallery in Langley BC.
To apply: visit www.langleyarts.ca/visual-arts-submissions/ and submit your name, titles of works, size, and medium, along with a clear and properly cropped photo of the artwork. There is no submission fee!
