Call For Submissions-2018 Exhibitions at the Silk Purse Arts Centre

Description

Submission is open to emerging & professional artists working in any medium. We are looking for art that reflects & examines our community & the vast world beyond, that presents new ideas & thought provoking concepts while encouraging creativity & diversity. Our mission is to encourage & foster the Arts in our community by providing artists a unique & popular space to exhibit their work & by making art by local artists accessible to the public.

Selected artists will be scheduled for a 3 week group or solo exhibition at the Silk Purse Arts Centre in 2018. The Exhibition Jury will determine whether an artist is assigned a solo or group exhibition. All selected artists will be required to become WVCAC Members. A modest Exhibition Fee will be charged to selected artists.

How To Submit
1. Register & pay the $25 Submission Fee at https://westvanartscouncil.ca/exhibitapplication
2. E-mail the following to westvanartscouncil@shaw.ca with the subject line 2018 Exhibition Submission

*5—8 hi-res images of artwork
*Brief concept/ theme of work
*Artist bio/cv

Submissions Close: September 8th 4pm
Results: Artists will be notified late September

*Must not have exhibited at the Ferry Building Gallery or West Vancouver Memorial Library in the last year or Silk Purse Arts Centre in last 2 years
