Call for submissions – summer art show and sale


Call to Artists

We are seeking local artist for an ongoing art sale every Sunday afternoon through July and August 2015 between 11:00am and 4:00pm. Location will outside the Lynn Canyon Café in beautiful Lynn Canyon Park.
Target market will be the large amount of tourists visiting the park as well as the many locals enjoying the park for the day.
We are seeking artwork that reflects the natural beauty of our beautiful West Coast, North Vancouver Mountains and nature trails as well as the diverse culture of the local community. Content / themes can be social, economic, historical and environmental or a combination. Preference will be given to submissions that aim to incorporate up-cycled, recycled, sustainability sourced, salvaged, found and/or other natural media.
Art should be small to medium in size with attractive price points. We prefer mostly original art; however prints and/or cards of the artists’ works are also encouraged.

A designated space will be provided but you will be responsible for your own display
tables, easels etc to present your art. All art and display set-ups must be preapproved.
The operators of the Lynn Canyon Café (The Butler Did it Catering) and the District of North Vancouver and is representatives are not responsible for any lost, stolen or damage art work that may occur in Lynn canyon park.

All submissions should include.
• samples of your work – 3 examples (jpeg, tiff or pdf)
• Expected price point range
• how you intend to display your work
• Artist Biography – maximum 200 words
• Availability – How many Sundays would you like to participate and which dates?

The submission deadline is Friday June 5, 2015. A team of local entrepreneurs and a representative from the District of North Vancouver parks will review submissions.
The teams’ decision will relate to what works best for the parks natural environment, price points, availability dates and the limited size of the space provided.

Winning artists will be contacted by June 19th, 2015.
Your completed submission is an acknowledgment and confirmation that you agree to the terms and conditions outlined above.
As mentioned earlier, Lynn Canyon Park attracts many visitors each year and has grown significantly over the years. This is a wonderful opportunity for artists to connect their work to a large audience.
