Charmian Nimmo “Urban Jungle”

Description

Please join us for the opening reception of “Urban Jungle”, a collection of work by Charmian Nimmo. Displaced by mankind, “Urban Jungle” honours those animals that have been pushed from their homes by their human counterparts and forced to adapt to live among them in the urban landscape.

Charmian began making pots in high school and has never stopped. She is a self taught potter, but was helped over the years by taking workshops & courses with many of the potters she admires. She worked as a production potter for three years with a local potter before starting her own studio. She has been teaching for over twenty years and currently teaches classes at three local community centres. She is a member of the Kingsmill studio on Granville Island. Charmian is relatively new to sculptural work but has been a wheel thrower and functional potter for many years. For more information about Charmian, please visit her website: http://www.charmiannimmo.com/

“Urban Jungle” runs from May 2nd, with an opening reception from 4pm – 7pm, until June 2nd. Circle Craft Gallery is located at 1-1666 Johnston St, Vancouver BC, V6H 3S2.
