Live at the Gallery, featuring Eddie Lam and Sillken

Description

Live at the Gallery is a monthly concert series held at the Deer Lake Art Gallery. This month’s concert features local musicians Eddie Lam and Sillken at 8 pm on Saturday, January 26, 2019.

Live at the Gallery brings music into the gallery setting, to connect fans of visual and musical arts. The event is an exciting mix of art and sound, from the sweet sounds of classical music to chilled out beats of local folk bands. Expect the unexpected!

The Burnaby Arts Council is passionate about promoting the arts as a vital component of our city’s culture. We take great pleasure in offering this FREE music concert series and welcome you to the Deer Lake Art Gallery! Live at the Gallery is an opportunity for Deer Lake to have another regular venue for local musicians to play and local enthusiasts to listen. It also provides an opportunity to subvert the often rigid structure of an art gallery by having an interactive presentation being held within it.

Eddie is a Vancouver-born music scene veteran with one of the most diverse musical portfolios in town. A two-time Whammy Award winner for the best piano player (and the first Chinese Canadian to ever win a Whammy Award), he is most known for being the front man for local all-Asian rock band ‘Cry of silence’ and one of the instrumentalists in Vancouver-based cover band ‘the Naturals’ and coordinating live band karaoke experience called ‘Rockaoke Live’.

Sillken is a musical duo featuring Michele Schmidt and Ken Cade. This indie songwriting duo performs heart-felt original folk/pop/country fusion music that weaves storytelling, ambient electric violin and classical guitar into their songs, transporting their audience into a soundscape of healing and well-being.

Please join us at the Deer Lake Gallery for Live at the Gallery on Saturday, January 26, 2019 @ 8:00 pm. Doors open @7:30 pm!
