Local Abstractions; A Nonrepresentational Community Art Show

Local Abstractions: A Nonrepresentational Community Art Show is an opportunity to explore the ‘materiality’ of the painted surface as well as experience artwork that does not represent things as they are but rather how they feel. This includes artwork of any medium that is non-objective, experimental, or depicts a visual image that does not have an immediate association with the object world.

The first 20 artists with completed submission forms and payment will be included in the exhibition. Artists are to submit 2 artworks; 1 or both artworks will be selected to be included in the exhibition.

Submitting Artwork:

2-d artwork must be no bigger than 24 inches wide; and no bigger than 40″ high including the frame; and no smaller than 16×16 inches including the frame.

2-d artwork must be ready to hang. Please use plastic coated wire on your frames. No clip frames. No fishline.

3-d artwork must be no bigger than 12 inches high by 12 inches wide by 12 inches deep.

Cost to submit: $12 – The submission fees help cover the costs attributed to installation and the Artist Reception. Please make your payment via Paypal or during our office hours.

Sales Commission:
All prices are set by the artist at the time of submission. Artists retain 80% of sales.

Important Dates:
Deadline to register: May 27, 5pm. However, space is limited. We will remove the submission form once we have received 20 completed submissions.

Thursday, May 30: 10am-4pm: Artwork drop off
Friday, May 31: 10am-2pm: Artwork drop off
Thursday, June 6 7pm-9pm: Artist Reception
Friday, July 18 10am-4pm: Artwork pick-up
