Description
The North Vancouver Community Arts Council is seeking 2D & 3D artists for our annual art exhibition at Capilano Mall as part of May Is Art Month. This exhibition provides an opportunity for artists working in 2D & 3D media to exhibit in a busy, non-traditional retail setting.
The exhibition will take place in a Pop Up Gallery, taking over an empty storefront within Capilano Mall, (935 Marine Drive, North Vancouver) from May 6 to May 15, 2016. This year the Gallery will be located on the main concourse (close to the Grand Court and Hanes Avenue Entrance), and will feature an Opening Reception in the evening on May 5th. The gallery is one of many components of the animation of the mall during the month of May, which also includes music, dance, and children’s workshops.
To apply, artists must drop off their artwork for jury consideration at the NVCAC at 335 Lonsdale Avenue, North Vancouver on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the following times:
Drop-off: 9:30am – 10:30am
Pick-up: 11:00am – 12:00pm
To be considered by the jury, submissions must abide by the following guidelines:
• Artists may submit up to 3 pieces of 2D or 3D artwork, all properly prepared for presentation
• Artists must provide an artist statement and biography on the day of the jury
• Artists must be able to commit to 2 volunteer shifts of gallery-sitting for 4 hours during the event (8 hours in total)
• No jury fee required
Upon acceptance, artists must become members of the North Vancouver Community Arts Council. Accepted artists will retain 100% of their sales from the exhibition.
