North Vancouver Community Arts Council presents The Reclaimers

Opening reception: Thursday, April 10, 7-9pm

Revel in the innovation and creation of art made by recycling materials. This exhibition focuses on the work of 17 artists who have found inspiration from industrial, consumer, found or everyday materials that are no longer desired, needed or can fulfill the original purpose. The art is made of at least 75% of materials re-purposed from its original use or intention. Some distinctive must-see pieces include: a dress made from plastic bags, a drill transformed into a roller-skating robot with a rocket dog, a roadster made out of a toaster and 8000 pennies that make up the portrait of the Queen.

Artists: Valerie Arntzen, William Frymire, Ann Hamm, Lorraine Kwan, Launi Lucas, Gabriele Maurus, Kathy Nash, Graham Schodda, Ron Simmer, Anne Souther, Kaarina Talvila, Frances Solar, Melanie Thompson, Derek von Essen, Laura Wallace, Anne-Francoise Wauthy, Karen Yaremkewich
