The Michael Wright Art Gallery presents Vancouver artist Mat Holmstrom’s third solo exhibit. Mount Delectable explores both classic and contemporary subject matter presented on paper, canvas and sculpture.

The Mount Delectable is referenced as a thematic title, depicting the artists own sources of joy residing in nature, love and harmony. A rich color palette and the integration of metallic paint stimulates a unique viewing experience in a variety of lighting situations.

Originally from Beaumont, Alberta, Mats practice is influenced by his French, Scandinavian and Canadian ancestry, resulting in a distinct style that fuses modern design knowledge with painterly intuition. Holmstrom studied at the Alberta College of Art and Design and MacEwan University. His work is in private collections across Canada.
