Our Place wants enthusiastic art volunteers

Description

Our Place Society is looking for art volunteers to volunteer weekly – or less depending on what works for your schedule – to work with our clients on various art projects.

Our Place is a community centre serving Greater Victoria’s most vulnerable citizens: the working poor, impoverished elderly, the mentally and physically challenged, the addicted and the homeless. We serve over 1,800 meals per day, and provide hot showers, free clothing, counseling and outreach services. Most importantly, we provide a sense of hope and belonging to our neighbours in need

We’re looking for volunteers with enthusiasm and a wide range of art skills to come into Our Place on Pandora Avenue or Choices Transition Home in View Royal. Choices has an art room with pottery wheels and a kiln.

We have many painters, writers, and poets in our clientele and many others that just find it relaxing to engage in art. If you like interacting with people who appreciate art, believe in its importance in stress relief and in creating fun you will like volunteering at Our Place.
