REDDOT Members’ Show & Sale


RedDot is back! A popular benefit of having an Alternator membership, all of our members are eligible to sell in this annual end-of-year exhibition. This is an un-juried exhibition with no limitations in medium, size, or even number of works. With affordability in mind, we ask that artists submit works priced between $25 and $250. With 75% of each sale going directly into the artist’s pocket, a 25% commission will go back to the Alternator to support the gallery in the coming year. Upon purchase, happy buyers will take their piece home at the time of purchase, and a giant red dot will fill the empty wall space. Let’s fill the gallery with spots!

How to Participate:

Step 1: Membership
Sign up for or renew your Alternator membership. You can sign-up online at www.alternatorcentre.com/membership, or contact us to check your existing membership status.

Step 2: Register to exhibit by Nov 6th
Please fill out and sign the registration form on Page 2. This can then be submitted in person, e-mailed to peter@alternatorcentre.com, or delivered to the gallery via mail. The final day for registration is Nov 6th, 2015. Artists who register with us will have their website and/or artwork featured with us through social media and exhibition promotions!

Step 3: Label and drop off your artwork
Label and identify your artwork by printing and filling-out Page 3 of the registration form. Drop off your work(s) at the Alternator on or before November 13th, 2015. All artwork identification must be included at the time of drop-off.

Step 4: Opening Reception
Invite your friends and family, and join us for the opening reception on Friday, November 20th at 7pm! This is a public event, and everyone is welcome to attend. RedDot runs November 20th to December 19th, 2015.

Other Details

1) Artists are responsible for the delivery and retrieval (if unsold) of all works submitted.

2) Unsold artwork must be picked up Sunday Dec 20th (11am to 5pm). If you require a different pick-up date, please contact gallery staff.

3) Insurance for artwork(s) on exhibition and in transit is the responsibility of the artist.

4) Sold artwork will be packaged and released to purchasers direct from the gallery at the time of sale.

5) The Alternator Centre for Contemporary Art will complete all sales transactions and will receive a 25% commission on all work sold through the RedDot exhibition.

6) January 5th – 15th, 2016 artists will receive payment via cheque for all works sold. Artists will be notified of any sales via email as they occur.

7) In submitting artwork, artists give the Alternator permission to use images of individual works for promotion of the members’ exhibition in print and web material, for distribution to gallery members and the general public.
