Saturday Night Art Lectures by John luna, Lecture #2: Flow

We are excited to announce that John Luna will be giving three Saturday Night Art Lectures this fall: Taste, Flow and Aura!

Lecture #2: Flow
This lecture explores the notion of ‘Flow’ as a state of consciousness, creative imperative or subcultural ethos. How do ‘flow states’ relate kinesthetic and sympathetic responses in our encounters with playing, making, reading and resting? Our investigation, will touch on a wide range of topics including essays by Mira Schor, the painting of Helen Frankenthaler and Frank Bowling, the rise of skateboarding, and Alvar Aalto’s modernist architecture.

Lectures are on Saturday evenings from 6:30 – 9:30. Each lecture is $15. Lectures are open to everyone so please arrive early to assure good seats! Drinks will be available before the lecture starts and during intermission.
