Unjuried Group show with Israeli Musical Theme, all are welcome

Invitation to artists to exhibit their work in the Zack Gallery.

Call to artists for our spring Festival Ha’Rikud in celebration of Israel at 70 on the theme of Israeli Music through the years.

This is an unjuried call to artists of all levels who would like to participate in a group show in celebration of Festival Ha’Rikud at the Sidney and Gertrude Zack Gallery at the Jewish Community Centre.

Each artist will be offered a small cradled wood panel from Opus to be picked up at the Zack Gallery and signed out on the form provided. Panels will be available beginning January 15th until we run out. These versatile panels can be used with almost any medium: oil, acrylic, watercolour, pastel, encaustic, photography and new media.

The artists are asked to do an artwork on the theme of Israeli music as mentioned above however the theme can be loosely interpreted.

The finished panels are to be returned, wired and ready to hang, by May 8. The artists name and the title of the piece should be on the back of the panel.

There will be an opening for the exhibition the evening of May 15th from 7 to 9pm and the artists will have the pleasure of inviting their friends and family to this event.

At the opening night each piece will have a silent auction sheet attached with an opening bid of $ 70.00. The bidding will be open for 10 days. For the pieces that sell 100 % of the proceeds will go to the gallery with the artists whose work sells receiving a tax receipt in the amount that the work sold for. The artists whose works don’t sell will be asked to retrieve their pieces after the show.

Your participation in this show is encouraged and appreciated.

Thank you, Linda Lando, Zack Gallery Director gallery@jccgv.bc.ca
