Vancity call to artists and designers for exterior mosaic design reflecting on Reconciliation

Description

At Vancity, we’re investing in community initiatives and projects that create opportunities for awareness, learning, and dialogue. Vancity is now inviting artists and designers who live or work in the Squamish Valley, Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley to submit design concepts for an exterior circular mosaic artwork recognizing reconciliation in a thoughtful and respectful way.

The selected design will be provided to a third party to create an exterior tiled mosaic artwork that will be inlaid in the sidewalk at the corner of Quebec Street and Terminal Avenue in Vancouver, BC. This mosaic will be a special edition to a series of five existing mosaics in front of Vancity Centre. The planned mosaic artwork will be 5’ in diameter and centered in a 6’ square concrete tile.
