Introduction to Advanced Watercolour Techniques with Kathy Baker – FULL

After completing the first class on basic watercolour techniques, or if you are comfortable with the basics already, you are invited to join Kathy Baker for help in creating a personal landscape image. Kathy will walk through the steps in figuring out what steps to take, to make your image into a painting. In the interest of having more time to paint at the actual workshop, you should come to the class with a full size colour print of the image that you wish to paint, and the drawing on a piece of watercolour paper, that should already be stretched onto a board. (I covered the “how to’s” in the first workshop.) Kathy will share how she pre-plans her colour palette and the techniques that she uses before beginning the actual painting… and then, we paint! Attendees will leave with a solid plan of attack, and at least a partially finished painting!

Kathy Baker is a newly retired art teacher, with 32 years’ experience; she is a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and has shown in numerous juried exhibits both through the Federation, and with the International Watercolor Society. She was selected to show in the IWS First Canadian Biennale, the Canada 150 Exhibit, as well as “ NWWS Waterworks: Amplified 2019”. She was awarded an Artist Appreciation Award from the 3rd International Abu Rawash Prize Exhibit, as well. She has had two group shows and a solo exhibit in her hometown of Mission, BC. She teaches workshops and does frequent artist’s demonstrations, and currently has a line of clothing featuring her artwork on sale throughout North America.
