Join Vancouver Cartoonist Zoe Si as she shares her adventures and techniques in Cartooning! From art-loving kid, to lawyer, to professional illustrator and New Yorker cartoonist, Zoe will discuss how cartooning is an integral part of her day, and her favourite materials to use at home and on-the-go. She will demonstrate her cartooning and painting techniques, including characters and illustrating a full scene, and explain her personal joke-writing tips. Attendees will gain a better understanding of basic cartooning techniques, using cartoons as a storytelling medium, and the role that autobiographical cartooning can play in learning about yourself and the world around you.

Artist Bio
Zoe Si is a cartoonist and illustrator in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia. She has a life-long passion for laughing at her own jokes and is always looking for new ways to tell stories with her art.
Zoe holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of British Columbia and practiced law for a number of years. She now spends her days making children’s books, cartooning and writing for The New Yorker, freelance illustrating, and drawing comics of everything in sight. In her spare time, she enjoys climbing mountains and petting dogs.
