An Introduction to Resin Pouring with EliChem’s Heidi Werschler

When: November 13th @ 11am PST (duration: 1.5hr)


In this class you will learn to work with a fluid two part coating resin. We will review the characteristics of Eli-Chem resins as well as how to prepare your surface for resin application. Heidi will explain and demonstrate pouring, mixing and applying tints. She will also demonstrate how and when to use a heat gun, art torch and other guiding objects. To show you just how fascinating working with resin can be, Heidi will incorporate ResiBlast; a product which creates beautiful lacing and cells in your resin art. A perfect workshop for those wanting to experiment with resin for the first time and for practiced resin artists alike!

 

Materials List

400 gm Kit of Eli-Chem MasterCast Resin

Buzz or Opus Exhibition cradled panel (either 11×14”, 12×12” or 15 “ round) 

– Any selection of acrylic inks for tinting the resin (suggest up to 4 in total. less is more)

ResiBlast (optional, but very cool) 

– An apron or painters clothing

– A plastic surface to work on

– 500 ml (or larger) container for mixing the two-part resins 

– Several disposable cups to mix tints with resin and to place your art on

– Stir stix, spoons for mixing

– Several pairs of protective gloves

– paper towel and min 75% isopropyl alcohol (Can be found in any pharmacy section of box stores) 

– Flat surface or box to place your work in while it cures

– level working space free of dust and pet hair

Artist Bio

Heidi Werschler has worked with various resins for several applications prior to becoming Canada’s Eli-Chem Resin’s representative. Her resin creations and experience began on a much larger canvas by applying colours and designs on floors for the flooring industry. Now she creates her designs on many kinds of surfaces. i.e. glass, wood, concrete and just about any application you can dream of. Dream. Pour. Design.
