About the Artist:
Endrené was born in Vancouver but raised in Kaleden and her local ties run deep. Folks will be familiar with the many murals she has painted throughout the South Okanagan, being a past artist at The Long Gallery, her illustrative work in children’s books, and now being a Penticton Arts Council Artist in Residence.
Graphica features some of the thousands of pieces of comic art made by Endrené Shepherd over her lifetime. Comic Art is the creation of drawings to tell a story, make people laugh, or make a point. Heavy topics (including caregiving, parenting, miscarriage, and sexual assault) are given new accessibility when presented in this format. Her exhibition runs until March 25th at the Leir House in Gallery II.
