Join award-winning visual artist and calligrapher Nikhat Qureshi and experience the centuries old art of Arabic Calligraphy! In this workshop, you will try your hand at using a bamboo pen to practice letterforms and script writing. You will not only learn to write your name in Arabic, but you will also learn the intricate history of Arabic calligraphy in the traditional and modern world today.

Painting inspiration and reflections, Nikhat takes her creativity as a means to express her connection to a soulful world. An award-winning visual Artist & Calligrapher, her passion for calligraphy is driven by the religious writings and poetic texts composed artistically in the traditional and modern world. As an explorer of Islamic Art, with her contemporary approach, she enjoys combining traditional styles and techniques of writing scripts. Nikhat is the founder of Islamic Art of British Columbia, a community initiative of Islamic Art, and regularly conducts Arabic Calligraphy workshops.
