Description
Its always hard to start sketching and painting in the eye of the public even if its just outdoors without anyone around!
This weekend workshop is geared to get you feeling comfortable sketching small, painting medium and feeling great about painting “en Plein Aire”.
Its just like the impressionist used to do, take a small amount of gear and head outdoors to capture the world around them.
We have a great location with washrooms, kitchen ammenities and coverage if it rains. The indoors even has a large window to view and paint from if necessary.
Special Instructions
All you need is a few paints, a board, a canvas, some watercolour paint and you can start to enjoy en plein air.
We will discuss all sorts of ways to create your best kit to paint outside. But this is to allow you the freedom to do it and feel confident that you won't sit down, paint and then realize you should have thought about the sunscreen or bugspray and now you need a bathroom really bad! Most of all we will paint and sketch outdoors and discuss how to reign in all that beauty to fit your painting material.
This is also to get you feeling comfortable about maybe trying to paint in the Harmony Grand Priz en Plein Air event at the Harmony Arts festival. I have painted almost 10 seasons at the Harmony Arts Plein Air event and received several awards including continuing to the Cypress Mountain Weekend with British Properties. I have lots of tips and suggestions.
Its about the fun of meeting other emerging and established artist who like to paint outdoors in a great setting. Its also a great event to possible continue onto other events.
You can even test your thoughts about expanding your knowledge as there will be a Grand Prix plein air week in August in Steveston.
Come and have a great weekend!
