Learn how to create impressionistic art from a realistic image with Sharon Huget!
In this mixed media demonstration, Sharon Huget will show how she turns realistic images from photographs and other materials into impressionistic art pieces. She begins with an under painting using gesso and acrylic texture, followed by loose drawings using water soluble graphite crayons, acrylic paint and other mixed media to blur the lines of a realistic image.
Space is limited and registration is required.
Please visit Opus Langley or contact them at 604‑533‑0601 to register.
Working in acrylic and mixed media, Sharon Huget creates contemporary compositions that are impressions of both the real and imagined. Inspired by natural and architectural forms, the sketchy, incomplete structures and markings allude to distant places and times both unknown and yet familiar. Through the use of colour, texture and graphite renderings, her paintings suggest the uncertain interception of human experience with what is unknown, elusive and transcendent. She is involved in her community as an artist, designer and educator and has most recently been honoured as a three time participant selected for the prestigious Fraser Valley Biennale.
