An introduction to the best practices for botanical drawing and painting. Learn how to see more by looking closely at the details to accurately draw what you see.
Study traditional botanical drawings to inform your impressions of living plants. Observe and record the distinguishing features of seasonal plant examples in line, tone and colour.

Online Zoom Class
This 3 part 2-hour per session drawing series is offered as live demonstrations via online Zoom Classroom. Classes are recorded for continued viewing for two weeks after the last class.
Some observational drawing experience is great but not necessary.

Subject: Cyclamen, Anemone or African Violet
- Dry Media: Pencils HB, 2B and 4B; Charcoal
- Wet Media: Watercolour paints (pans or tubes); A selection of watercolour brushes
- Paper: Mixed media sketchbook; watercolour hot-press paper (pad or sheets)
- Other: White plate or soya dishes for colour mixing palettes; 3 jam jars for water; paper towel; desktop easel; drawing board; transparent ruler
