CALL FOR ARTISTS:

The Penticton & District Community Arts Council presents CanwaxWest’s Brilliant Moments Online – a celebration of encaustic painting.

May 7th to May 30th, 2020

The Leir House Cultural Centre has long been the home of many exhibition partnerships with the PDCAC & CanwaxWest. Due to the continuation of physical isolating, the scheduled May exhibition will now be online.

Parameters:

  1. There will not be a theme for the show, but the pieces must be encaustic.

  2. The show is open to all artists working in encaustic.

  3. 40 participants maximum.

  4. Exhibition will run May 7th to May 30th.

Instructions on registration:

  1. Send jpeg images of up to 3 paintings.

  2. Submissions must be sent to programs@pentictonartscouncil.com by April 30, 2020

  3. List the Artist’s name, title, size, and medium.

  4. The Arts Council will not be handling any sales during this exhibition, but can direct interested parties to the artist.

  5. Please put the title Brilliant Moments 2020 in the subject line.

Regarding Images:

  • Please use images that are between 1500 and 2500 pixels wide. Images smaller than 1500 pixels may appear blurry or pixelated.

  • Image files of around 500 KB for best results, max 2MB

  • Let us know if you need to send a larger file size or if you don’t know how to resize.

  • Good representation of the painting:

    • Clean, in focus, with full painting captured (PDCAC can crop and resize)

    • Well lit, with no shadows

  • Images must the artists own work and not violate copyright.
