Call For Artists: SPECTRUM Unjuried Open Invitation Exhibition

Description
All artists, established & emerging are invited to submit work for the 6th annual unjuried open invitation exhibition SPECTRUM. The first 25 artists to submit 1 work of art will be featured in a 4 week group exhibition from June 2 – 26 at the Silk Purse Gallery in West Vancouver!
Our goal with this exhibition is to showcase the talented artists in our community working in a broad spectrum of styles, media & subject matter; to create an inclusive & level playing field for artists at varying stages of their careers; & to present a diverse & engaging art experience.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE
Bring 1 work of art to Silk Purse Arts Centre, 1570 Argyle Ave. on Tuesday, May 31 at 4 pm. The 1st 25 artists will be featured in the exhibition.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
a) 1 original work of art in any medium, style or subject.
b) Work must be gallery ready – have appropriate mounting/hanging equipment ie: hanging wire, d-rings etc.
c) Max Size: Wall mounted artwork: 24” x 24” (including frame if work is framed)
Free-standing sculpture: height 24″ diameter 10″. (Due to limitations we may not be able to accept all sculpture submissions)
e) Current WVCAC Membership.
d) $10 entry fee
EXHIBITION INFORMATION
Dates/Location: June 2 – 26, 2022. Silk Purse Arts Centre.
Installation & Uninstallation: Installation will be executed by the WVCAC. Artwork to be retrieved on Sunday, June 26 at 4 pm.
Sales: The WVCAC will process all sales & take a 30% commission.
Promotion: The WVCAC will promote the exhibition in various online & print publications.
People’s Choice Award: Visitors will have the opportunity to vote for the work that speaks to them. The work with the most votes wins the artist a $100 Opus Gift Card.
First Thursdays Art Walk: June 2 from 6-8 pm The Silk Purse will be open to the public for the Art Walk, a celebration of local artists, art spaces, public art, creativity & community.
