Join us in learning to draw like the old masters with Mandy Boursicot! A hands-on virtual art workshop presented by Opus Art Supplies.
Mandy Boursicot will walk you through the techniques for Classical Realism while drawing a French Bulldog Puppy.
Workshop Description:
Mandy will introduce you to Nitram Charcoals, a professional medium used in Classical Realist Ateliers to achieve the finest nuances of fully rendered drawings. While such drawings may take upward of 75 hours, Mandy will demonstrate a much shorter and fun drawing of a French Bulldog Puppy, a much beloved pet, belonging to a close family friend.
The subject of drawings is almost always the focus for the viewer, but the aim here, is to show you how to use this medium in any kind of work, be it long and serious or short and whimsical. Indeed, animals will feature prominently in Mandy’s Opus’ 28 days of practice this month. So follow along, and try this medium with all of Mandy’s tips and techniques

Mandy Boursicot
Professional artist and teacher Mandy Boursicot has won international awards and competitions and been published in Strokes of Genius among other journals. Ten years after graduating from Emily Carr, and showing in top commercial galleries around Canada, she went to Florence, Italy, to immerse herself in an intensive 19th Century-style Art Academy. She mastered the Classical Realist method and returned to Vancouver, where she opened her own atelier, sharing her skills and expertise. Over the years, Mandy has done dozens of live demos at various Opus locations, with many people learning and benefiting from her lessons. Recently pivoting to online teaching, Mandy has found a new passion in teaching in front of a camera to audiences far and wide.
