Join professional artist and keen oil painter Sheree Jones as she shares her tips & techniques on colour mixing with a limited palette. Using just seven warm & cool colours plus white, Sheree will show you why these tried and true colours work for her, both in the studio, and outdoors “en plein air”.

In this informative presentation you will learn:

  • How to make a good variety of darks, and a vast array of grays (without black)
  • How to use complementary colours to your best advantage
  • How to assess the temperature and value of your colour mixes

Sheree’s fun loving spirit and her passion for sharing her knowledge is sure to inspire all who attend. This demo will be geared towards painting in painting in Oil and Acrylic and will be wonderful for folks interested in using a limited palette of colours in their painting practice.

The Limited Palette: This is a “limited palette” not a limiting one. Learning to use these basic colours, and how they mix with each other, will give you a solid understanding of the colour wheel. *Sheree will use all Gamblin Artist Colours.

Titanium White

Cadmium Lemon or Cadmium Yellow Light

Cadmium Yellow Medium

Cadmium Red Light

Alizarin Permanent

Ultramarine Blue

Transparent Earth Red (also known as Transparent Red Iron Oxide in different brands)

Phthalo Green or Viridian

Artist Bio

Sheree Jones is an artist and oil painter living in North Vancouver. She has been passionate about her art since the age of crayons. 

An active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists & Plein Air BC, her work can be found in numerous collections around the globe. 

Sheree leads workshops in her personal teaching studio and on plein air adventures throughout BC as well as Mexico and France. 

She also teaches several online classes including her very popular weekly mentoring series.
