Description
This new design course explores the principles and elements of design and develop an understanding of how they can be applied across a variety of mediums such as drawing, painting, collage and photo-based practices. Focus will be on composition, surface treatments and typography. Weekly projects will encourage students to experiment and to comprehend various aspects to two- dimensional design. Lecture components of the class will further explore components of design within a fine art context by looking at practicing artists and ideas within the field.

- Liquitex acrylic gouache set - primary (large)
- small palette
- brush- opus allegro 8 or similar
- brush- flat, 1/2" - 3/4" wide

- fine tipped black pen
- metal ruler
- large envelope 9"x12" (can be used, this will hold collage material)
- scissors
- small glue stick
- a cloth for wiping hands
