Description
Drawing Introduction II continues the focus on basic materials and techniques of drawing. In this second part of the course, the emphasis is on learning to use materials and methods to develop a personal expression in drawing. As with Drawing Introduction I, subject matter includes still life, the figure, landscape, architectural space and student supplied source material. Prerequisite: Drawing: Introduction I or some drawing experience.

- 18”x24” or larger cartridge pad
- HB, 2B and 4B pencils
- white soft eraser
Additional items to be discussed during the first class:
- grey gum eraser (kneadable)
- pencil sharpener
- compressed charcoal
- Willow or Vine stick charcoal
- bulldog clips (2 large size)
- India ink
- Chinese brushes (minimum 2 different sizes)
- Conté (black, white and sanguine)
- 1 large Hake brush (2 ½” or 3”)
- masking tape
- scissors
- 10-well plastic palette for inks or similar plastic containers
- rags

- sketch book 11”x14” or larger
- 18”x24” or larger newsprint pad
- 18”x24” or larger cartridge pad
- 18”x24” or larger Manila or Kraft pad
- white bristol/tag (Plate finish) (x 5)
