Description
In this workshop you will focus on making line drawings with ink and using soft pastels as a background as well as to add some colour. Using a traditional dip pen and ink, you will learn to make elegant and confident lines to draw tropical houseplants. These drawings will be enhanced by layering a few colours of soft pastel to add colour and visual interest. Suitable for all levels.

This online course will be held via Zoom. Students will receive a link one week ahead of the start of the course.

Suppy List
- all-purpose sketchbook, 11 x 14”
- set of 12 soft pastels (try and get a set that includes “violet”)
- synthetic sable watercolour brush (for ink)
- plastic pen nib holder and a Speedball Hunt Nib 512 Bowl-Pointed (a bowl-point nib is a nib specifically for drawing)
- india ink
- jar for ink
- soft cloth
