Drawing: Sense of Place

November 04, 2023

$75

Description

Capture the essence of place through drawing with graphite on mylar. Working from photographs taken on a walk in our urban setting, we will use drawing as a means of close observation. Using a range of graphite pencils and drawing techniques, students will discover the significance of spending time examining the overlooked and ignored details of our surroundings. We will explore light and shadow, master the delicate art of texture, and cultivate a keen eye for detail. In this workshop students will learn the technical drawing skills to translate photographs into sensitive monochromatic pieces. Suitable for all levels.
