DRIVEN TO ABSTRACTION

Description
For CVAC’s next member show, we are challenging artists to try abstraction as their creative style. Abstract art may seem spontaneous but it is actually very difficult to achieve the right visual space – without landscapes or people – that sends the viewers into journeys of their own. Artist Jackson Pollock said abstract painting is “Energy and motion made visible – memories arrested in space.” So whatever your medium or school (Cubism, Fauvism, Expressionism, Op or something beyond), join in. It will be an eye-catching show!
Artists: Check the calendar for abstract workshops and talks in October and November. Sign up below to submit one or two pieces. Maximum size is 36×36 inches. No diptychs or triptychs.
Deadline to register is December 10 or sooner if capacity is reached. Drop off day is Tuesday Jan.3
