Exploring 8 New Winsor & Newton Artist Oil Colours

Join Winsor & Newton Resident Artist and Director of The Fine Art Collective education program, Jimmy Leslie, along with Opus Art Supplies for a fun exploration of the 8 new colours in the Winsor & Newton Artists’ Oil Colour Range.

Jimmy will delve into the historical background of the colours while painting for you and sharing his mixing experiments with these new additions. And remember, as a former college art professor, Jimmy loves answering questions. If there is anything about the oil painting process that confuses you or you are unsure of, or you simply want to ask about inspiration and choice of subject matter, come prepared because all questions are welcome.

Artist Bio:

Jimmy Leslie is painter, former college art professor and currently Resident Artist for the fine art brands Liquitex and Winsor & Newton.  Jimmy also directs The Fine Art Collective education program for the brands in North America and works with the marketing team on assets related to new product development.  His paintings have been exhibited across the United States and reside in collections in the US and UK.

Of his personal work Jimmy says, “I am constantly trying to achieve simplicity in my paintings which continues to be a lifelong challenge”.  When teaching, Jimmy enjoys sharing the process of that challenge and seeking ways in which he can convey information to students in a clear and concise manner that helps them overcome stumbling blocks.
