October 19, 2019

Description

Saturday, October 19 11:30AM – 1:00PM
Saturday, October 19 2:00PM – 3:30PM

Regardless of one’s artistic level or ambition, the privilege of standing in the shoes of Great Old European Masters by imitating their technical and creative virtuosity is one of the most exciting, time honoured traditional atelier experiences. Centuries ago, all studio apprentices had learned through the process of copying their own and other studio masters. Mark Anthony will show you how to travel through great artistic periods with your pencil and experience, line by line, a hands-on approach to artistic discovery. For all levels. Demos will begin from a blank paper. Participants are encouraged to bring a small drawing pad for sketching and note taking.

Space is limited and registration is required.
Please visit Opus Coquitlam or contact them at 604‑545‑0410 to register.

For over 30 years, Mark Anthony’s great passion for artistic tradition complimented with his own strong European roots has lead him into a career in representational drawing based on the poetic charm of the old-world European studio. His professional work history includes owning and operating a small Alberta based portrait studio/gallery, working with private, historical and municipal heritage projects, and teaching hundreds of students of all levels in the grand tradition of observational and classical drawing.
