Learn to create one-of-a-kind artworks by mixing mediums with Deborah Bakos!
Deborah will demonstrate mixed media techniques for transforming photographs into contemporary paintings. She will provide methods for prepping, painting, embellishing and framing these uniquely personal pieces.Techniques such as waxing, palette knife and brushwork application, basic embroidery, panel mounting and shadow box framing will be included in the discussion and demonstration. Deborah hopes you will gain insight into and appreciation for the numerous mediums that can be combined to create one-of-a-kind artworks.

Deborah is photobased, mixed media painter at Parker Street Studios in Vancouver. Her works are exhibited in commercial and public galleries both locally and internationally.
She holds a Certificate of Fine Art/Painting from Emily Carr University and a Bachelor of Education in English/FineArts/Media Studies from Simon Fraser University.
Deborah’s artwork is an exploration of and commentary on current social issues related to gender politics, media/advertising and youth culture.
