Fun, Flowing, Flowers on Aquabord 

You will be introduced to Aquabord in this workshop while learning a playful way of painting flowers. Enjoy quick and easy watercolour “tricks” for starting loose and refining a painting to your satisfaction. Learn to push your colour and shapes beyond the ordinary. At the same time, discover the super surface of Aquabord that allows you to create textures and flows without masking! You’ll also learn how to paint watercolour and present it without a mat or glass!

Gamboge Nova/New Gamboge, Scarlet Lake, Quinacridone Red, Quinacridone Magenta, Phthalo Blue (Yellow Shade), Sap Green, and Verditer Blue (Optional)

Artist Bio: 

Karen Vernon has worked in multi-media (watercolour, oil, acrylic, and pastels) for over fifty years and has taught workshops throughout the United States, Europe, and Canada. Her award-winning paintings hang in museums as well as private and corporate collections. She has been elected to the Birmingham Watercolour Society, Birmingham, U.K., and other prestigious watercolour societies. She is recognized in her field, is a noted speaker and industry consultant, caring instructor, and judge of many national exhibitions. Karen Vernon is also the Executive Director of ARTS for Rural Texas, which offers free arts programs to rural Texas communities.
