Fundamentals of Plein Air Painting with Maria Josenhans
Opus Art Supplies’ iconic artist demonstrations and workshops have gone virtual! All our events are now held through Zoom. If you are not yet familiar with this fantastic meeting system, feel free to read the following articles from Zoom to get started.
Join skilled BC Artist Maria Josenhans for an introduction to the fundamentals of Plein Air Painting in oil and acrylic paint. Maria will walk participants through Plein Air supplies and set-up as well as introduce a limited colour palette which will help folks keep their painting kits light and portable. This limited palette, while limited, still allows the artist to mix a full range of accurate colours. Participants will be presented with fantastic tips for fruitful Plein air sessions including keeping paintings loose and expressive as well as working small and quick. Maria will also discuss helpful ways of finding a composition and ways of sketching for success. This demo will be wonderful for folks wanting to try Plein Air Painting for the first time or any creative individuals who would like to learn more about setting themselves up for successful Plein Air sessions!
