Gallery Installation Volunteer

Description
The Port Moody Arts Centre is looking for committed volunteers to assist in the removal, hanging, and installation of artworks as we transition exhibitions. Artworks can be paintings, ceramics and pottery, and multimedia pieces, among other media. Installation and strike occur every 6-8 weeks (dates can be provided) between 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM on select weekdays. Training can be provided. Volunteers use hammers, measuring tapes, levels, sanding tools, putty to create beautiful exhibitions. This is a dynamic role that includes packaging sold artwork, processing incoming art pieces, hanging art, moving plinths for sculptural works, filling holes, washing and painting walls, among other tasks.
Must be able to carry and lift heavy objects and be able to stand for 2-4 hours at a time.
