May 22, 2021

$210

Description

This workshop will explore the fun subject of drawing a botanical specimen in a small glass vase with water.  We’ll discuss the concepts of drawing glass accurately, how reflection works, how transparency is attained, and what a botanical specimen looks like in a glass vase. Along the way you’ll get tips, and information on how to work more successfully with colour pencils, how to choose your colours, how to layer and perfecting how you can apply colour on your paper to get more precise realism.

Students will get access for online feedback, videos and information sheets to help them move forward with their drawing.

Instructor: Jeannette Sirois is a full-time, practicing visual artist working with colour pencil and graphite on paper. Sirois has created work for public installations, gallery exhibitions, and private and public collections. She holds a Diploma in Design, a BFA with distinction from Concordia University in Montreal, art teacher certification, and an M.Ed. from UBC. Currently, Sirois is a member of BAC (Botanical Artists of Canada) and works on large scale botanical and portrait drawings.
