In this whimsical Mixed Media class you will learn the techniques of image transfer, application of imitation gold leaf to an “embossed” background, and the creation and application of your own handmade gold leaf paper. You will also learn about all of the Golden Molding Pastes and their differences, the colour behind Gold Leaf, and how to Gesso a panel quickly and smoothly with a secret tool.

In my demo I will be using my own photo of an abandoned prairie house for the image transfer. The Stenciled areas will be gold; my stencils are grasses, dandelion seeds and a circle for the sun. Feel free to create your own unique painting using your own photography and stencils or use my piece as a guide!
