Learn how to paint a ‘sun glow effect’ in oils using impressionist-style technique. Create new paintings from concept ‘thumbnails’ to ‘broken colour’ completion. Learn how to create sponge texture, underpainting and classical glazing.
MATERIALS
- pencil, sketchbook, eraser
- basic oil painting set (cad red med, cad yellow light, cad yellow medium, ultramarine blue, thalo blue, alizarin crimson, burnt umber, titanium white)
- variety of brushes 1/8″-1/2″
- odourless mineral spirits (Gamsol)
- alkyd medium (Liquin)
- normal accessories (rags, mixing containers, pallet, etc.)
- synthetic sponge (utility)
