Description
This workshop will give students an introduction to colour theory in acrylic paints. Topics include learning about value, the colour wheel, tints tones and shades, earth colours, discords and colour schemes. Students will leave with their own introductory colour theory guide made over the course of this workshop.

Suppy List
Supplies
– sketchbook (or loose-leaf paper)
– heavy weight paper (recommend Canson XL Watercolor Pad Size: 9X12)
– pencil and eraser
– pastels (oil or chalk)
– variety of coloured markers
– variety coloured pencils
– painters tape
– waterproof fine tip felt pen (recommend Micron brand)
– variety of acrylic painting brushes (flat, round, filbert and a detail brush – recommend
Opus Legato Acrylic Brush Set Assorted)
– variety of acrylic paint (must have a red, blue, yellow, white and black)
– rag / paper towel
– palette
– an interesting tool to create lines and shapes with (ex. q-tip, old hairbrush, tuna can,
stick, feather, spray bottle, sponge etc)
– max. 9” x 12” primed and stretched canvas or other primed painting surface
– optional: folder/binder to hold artwork
– optional: masking fluid
