Description

Sunday, September 15, 11:00am – 12:30pm (Registration required)
Sunday, September 15, 2:00pm – 5:00pm (Pop-Up demonstration)

Get into plein air printmaking with Carol McQuaid!

Come and learn the basic steps to creating a relief print!  We’ll learn about how to design, transfer and safely carve a linocut block. We’ll talk about printing techniques for the studio, the kitchen table, and how to take your printmaking outside. We’ll look at some effective ways to get multicolour prints, even when you’re working quickly outside. The morning demonstration requires registration, however the afternoon demonstration is a pop-up, so feel free to come by anytime during the time period!

Space is limited and registration is required.
Please visit Opus Downtown Vancouver or contact them at 604‑678‑5889 to register.

Vancouver artist Carol McQuaid loves the contemplation involved in capturing a scene.  She works on location, carrying her watercolour sketchbook journals on her travels around Vancouver and her frequent travel adventures further afield. Carol prints and paints at Beaumont Studios in Vancouver, and is an active member of The Federation of Canadian Artists.  She has been awarded recent artist residencies in Italy and Spain and has exhibited in both countries.
