Soft Pastels are one of the world’s oldest mediums. Join Jeff Olson, Art Education Director for Royal Talens North America, for an informative and explorative presentation on this medium’s history, composition, and features. Jeff will also be demonstrating one of the more unique techniques of “Pastel Dusting” to create dramatic scenes on a dark toned paper. As an ode to the season, he will also share a surprise technique perfect for the Halloween holiday. This demo will be perfect for any creative individual looking to explore the wonderful world of soft pastels, learn new techniques, or join us for some spooky fun.

Artist Bio
Jeff Olson, Art Education Director for Royal Talens, holds a BA and MFA in painting and drawing. He has more than a decade of college and university teaching experience in studio art, and more than 20 years in the art material industry with product expertise in a variety of mediums; Olson’s demonstrations deliver meaningful insights into the history, development, and application of artists’ materials.
