Description
Humans and other animals have lots of things in common. In this class, we focus on one of these special things we have in common: friends! We at the Bateman Foundation believe in making creative, fun, and educational environments for students where they can practice their art, learn about nature, and find things in common with nature. This month we are celebrating having friendship in common with nature.
This 4-week Junior NatureSketch Online course is taught by Val Lawton, who will teach students art fundamentals such as line drawing, understanding shapes, and shading techniques, with a fresh and fun approach that will encourage budding artists to create beautiful nature sketches. Using eco-literacy principles from world-renowned artist and naturalist, Robert Bateman, we encourage participants to connect to nature through art and observation.
In this class, students will learn about, discuss, and learn to draw four pairs of animals that like to do things together. They will create 4 drawings and gain the knowledge and skills to make many more.
