Learn how to make and use Egg Tempera with Jenny Auld!

Jenny Auld will demonstrate how to prepare egg yolk emulsion, how to temper dry pigments safely, and some techniques and suggestions for using the medium of egg tempera in contemporary art-making. There will be a brief discussion of egg tempera in history and its merits as a medium for the present day.

Jenny Auld trained in fine arts at Langara College and linguistics at UBC and Edinburgh University. She undertook private study in calligraphy and egg tempera technique in Scotland and New York before returning to British Columbia. Her interest as a teacher is in helping students of all ages recover confidence and joy in art-making while learning to develop their skills. Jenny Auld has a particular love for Taiwan, where she shows her work at Art Sui gallery in New Taipei City.
