Mixed Media Resin Art Class
Join us for a fun and unique class where we’ll introduce you to mixed media collages using resin. You’ll learn how to create collages with a variety of materials, from paper and photos, apply spray paint, incorporate different materials, and learn not to be afraid of a torch!
We will go over materials, techniques, and safety precautions. Finally, you’ll have the opportunity to try out everything you’ve learned in a hands-on session, and learn mistakes you should avoid when working with resin
This mixed media workshop is perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike.

TIME: 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM (with a 30min lunch break – please bring your own lunch)
**Note: if you have long hair please tie it up and be sure to wear painting clothes.
About the Instructor:
Freakshow is the moniker of filmmaker and Street Pop artist Kevin O’Quinn.
He begins the creative process by preparing his surface with multiple layers of vintage magazine paper in order to define the edges and delineate the background planes of color. He then alternates layers of paint and vintage paper ephemera, sanding away portions of the layers as he works, revealing the desired portions of under painting with the overall intention to provide the viewer with a muted window into the pieces past.
Freakshow’s art depicts subversive & nostalgic plays on icons of the past and present, using a wide range of techniques and mediums including vintage collage, acrylic and aerosol paint, diamond dust and resin.

Students are recommended to plan a composition and bring materials related to it such as trinkets, images, words, beads, rhinestones, personal items. Please do not bring large items or plants.
