Modern Calligraphy brings together the centuries-old art of dipping a pen into ink, with your own, modern flair. This beautiful art is relaxing, meditative, easy to learn and incredibly applicable for personalizing gifts this holiday season. In this demo, you’ll learn the tools you need to get started in pointed pen calligraphy, how to use these tools and the key techniques to write beautifully. You’ll also get introduced to some of Karla’s favorite tools to make memorable gifts.

Artist Bio
Karla Lim of Written Word Calligraphy is a calligraphy educator + wedding invitation designer + calligraphy product creator based in Vancouver, Canada. She created an online course academy that follows the calligraphy journey from beginner, to intermediate, to designing wedding invitations and to starting your own calligraphy business. In the realm of invitations, she’s known for creating bespoke, minimal and cohesive suites that feature her modern calligraphy style and illustration, that blend in the love story and style of the couple. She has been published in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, The Knot, Martha Stewart Weddings, Style Me Pretty, People Magazine, and so much more. Last year, she added “Author” to her belt – a beginner calligraphy and projects book, Creative Calligraphy Made Easy. If she’s not writing beautiful words or creating content for her Youtube, you’ll find her with her 3-year old and hubby in some outdoor adventure, riding her Peloton, and cooking/baking a new dish.
