Sara is passionate about low-tech art techniques that don’t need a lot of fancy equipment and materials. This introductory session will give participants a taste of monoprinting with plants using a sheet of plexi, a brayer (roller), paper and ink. Sara will bring plant material, but participants may bring some if they wish. Plants can be fresh or pressed – if fresh, as flat and thin as possible. Sara will also demonstrate printing with a Speedball Gel plate and there will a few Gel plates to try out.

Sara graduated with a BFA from UBCO in 2000; she has shown her work in public and commercial galleries in BC. Printmaking has been focused on collographs and monoprints with a mixed media approach, Sara also works in collage and painting. In 2013, Sara founded the local charity Cool Arts Society.
