Call for Artist Description:
Coquitlam Heritage is calling local musical artists & musicians to apply for our second annual Music in the Square summer evening concert series. This free community event will run over four dates during the summer of 2023. Exact dates for performances to be determined.
We offer a unique outdoor venue in Heritage Square for 1.5 hour musical performances to a diverse audience including families and seniors. We seek to offer varied musical traditions and cultures and encourage duos, trios and bands with up to 6 members to apply. Performances must be family friendly but all genres of music are considered.
Selected bands will be responsible for their own sound tech and set up, and will receive an honorarium of $500 for their performance.
Musicians working in the Lower Mainland area of Vancouver. Artists 16 years or older. Special consideration will be given to bands from the Tri-Cities area (Coquitlam, Port Moody & Port Coquitlam) but artists from around the Lower Mainland are welcome to apply.
How to Apply:
Music samples: 3 full songs uploaded to a shareable drive or a link to a website / YouTube channel with samples
Details to include: a short biography of your group (or duo act), examples of other community concerts you’ve performed at, the number of people in your group, types of instruments used, links to the band or artist’s social media pages and confirmation that you have all of your own gear and you do not require any technical support.
There is no submission fee.
Fees/Compensation: Coquitlam Heritage is pleased to provide honorariums of $500 for each 1.5 hour performance.
Selected bands/musicians will be notified as soon as possible. We appreciated all submissions, but only selected artists will be contacted by April 14th, 2023.
