Learn to mix oil paints for your next project with Mark McDermott!

Join Mark as he discusses and demonstrates how to approach mixing colours on a project and session basis. Mark will introduce the concept of colour mixing versus colour adjusting. Mark describes this technique as a breakthrough for achieving realistic colours. He will also be discussing and demonstrating the approaches on how to apply the colour to your panel or canvas. You will also learn which brushes work best for different situations, stages, and scale of work. There are countless solutions and approaches to achieving a successful work, and Mark will be giving you some valuable tips and techniques to help you get there.

Schooled in Graphic Design and Illustration Mark has been a Senior Art Director for over 20 years and has been painting in oils since 2001. An 8 year painting hiatus ended in 2017 when Mark rediscovered his passion for painting. Moving from a classical technique, Mark switched to more contemporary methods and subject matter. The change in style has energized his work and he is now eager to continue to hone his craft and pass on his knowledge to everyone who finds joy in exploring their creative side.
